It’s that can’t eat, can’t sleep, reach for the stars, over the fence, world series kind of baseball letter board! Yes, I’m back with another DIY letter board and yes, I just used that phrase AGAIN. Just can’t help myself on either!
I’m still obsessed with this letter board for $10 and as long as the ideas keep coming, I’m going to keep sharing! I’ve actually been sitting on this DIY baseball sign idea since I first made over the letter board for back to school. Whether you’re throwing a baseball themed party or in need of baseball room decor, this letter board is for you!
Now that the World Series is here and baseball season is almost over, it seemed like the perfect time to share.. (insert palm to the face emoji here!).. Life got a little busy these past couple months but I know you baseball fans are committed year round, soooo this one’s for you!
Materials:
- Felt Letter Board
- Red adhesive backed felt
- Scissors or exacto knife
First of all, how easy is this material list?! The letter board used to only be sold in stores at Walmart, but I found it online! If it’s ever out of stock or you need it quicker than ordering online, Hobby Lobby and Target also sell white letter boards depending on where you live.
I found the adhesive backed felt online. Regular felt would also work but the adhesive backed saves you from gluing every line of stitching. You could throw this baby together during the 7th inning stretch!
I free hand cut the baseball stitching. You could use a bowl or any object that might help you out with the curved portion. The great thing is, if you mess up, you’ll have plenty of felt left over to try again. The lady at Hobby Lobby recommended an exacto knife for cutting the felt but I found a pair of sharp scissors to work just as well.
Once you have all the stitching, the final step is to peel the backing off the felt and stick each piece onto the board. That’s it! So incredibly easy.
My favorite thing about letter boards is the versatility in sayings. Unlike typical baseball signs you might purchase, you can switch up the phrase as often as you like. You can use it as a table decoration at your baseball themed party. You can use it as baseball room decor in your child’s room and surprise them with different phrases on game days. You can use it as baseball wall decor if you’re just a whole baseball loving family. So many options and I just love it, I hope you do too!
