I grew up with American Girl Dolls so you can imagine my excitement when my niece Charlie showed interest in the new WellieWishers Dolls
After seeing what the WellieWishers stand for and all the adorable things they do on a daily basis, I knew I had to plan a birthday party around this theme. Fortunately, after 2 months of asking Charlie on repeat, it was confirmed I had the go ahead!
Most of the party decorations were inspired by the WellieWishers playhouse. I love all the little details and my goal was to take them from doll form to real life.
The directional sign was a take on the signpost on the outside of the playhouse. I decided to adapt it for the party and include the main activities the party goers would be partaking in.
I LOVE the garden rules from the playhouse so I also wanted to include those in party form. I don’t think the kids had any problem following these rules! Click here to download your free printable for the party rules sign!
Of course we had to have real (and maybe some faux) flowers, greenery and WELLIES! Little rain boots in toddler size might be the cutest thing I’ve ever seen.
For dessert we had mini cupcakes from Gigi’s and the absolute most adorable cookies I have EVER seen from Nikki over at Tikkido.
Nikki was kind enough to help out a new blogger friend and I have to say, she nailed it! The only information I gave her was that the party was WellieWishers inspired, so when I saw the cookies in person, I couldn’t believe it! She captured every detail and matched my decorations/party favors perfectly. Thank you Nikki!
If I shared every picture I have of these beautiful cookies you’d be scrolling for hours, so head over to Tikkido and you can see more pictures and details from Nikki’s perspective!
We already had sugar at this party so I wanted to make sure the party favors were a little different but toddler appropriate.
These flower seed wands are a favorite of mine! A cute way to package up your seeds and let your guests start their own garden at home. (Be sure to check out the DIY video!)
We also sent each child home with a take along tic-tac-toe game. (Make sure to check out the DIY video!) It’s an adaptation of one of the accessories
For activities, I wanted to keep with the WellieWishers theme and playing in the garden but had to adapt for being indoors and accommodating 20 children (mostly toddlers!)
I found these birdhouses at Michaels and they were perfect! The scalloped roof matches the cute little birdhouse on the WellieWishers playhouse and to keep things somewhat clean, I did the painting beforehand, and let the kids pick a bird and do the decorating.
The other themed activity was making mud pies out of playdough. I don’t think you can ever go wrong with playdough and as you can see, with a little imagination, the playdough turned into birthday pies perfect for blowing out pretend candles!
In the end, I think everyone had a Wellie Wishin’ good time!
**I have had a lot of requests for the signs from this party so I’ve attached some free printables, for personal use only please! I made them generic so they’ll work no matter your child’s name. If you have questions or problems downloading them, please reach out! Xo
