Black & White Easter Party

Do you ever get an idea for a party all because of one special item you can’t resist?! For me, it was this black and white vintage script bunny! (He’s on sale right now if you want to snatch him up for next year!) How cute is he?! I typically stick to traditional colors when it comes to holidays but this year I just had to go black and white to make sure I could incorporate this little guy into our Easter party.

Once I had him and his friend (who I gave a makeover so she looked like a girl), I knew I wanted the rest of the party to feel airy and fresh and have a vintage garden feel. I had these open back frames from Hobby Lobby sitting in a closet and I thought they were the perfect fit for displaying the Easter phrases. I used my Cricut machine to create the phrases and fishing line to hold them up so they looked like they were floating!

I always like having varying heights on a dessert table so I spray painted this wooden crate from Michaels to hold one of the frames and make sure the phrases weren’t competing with each other. I also added faux flowers throughout to add just a little bit of color and a few scattered eggs.

For desserts, I went with cupcakes, cookies, and powdered sugar donuts! The cupcakes were homemade so to dress them up I used my Cricut and made some scalloped cupcake wrappers.

Since black and white aren’t really considered Easter colors, I had to make my own sugar cookies. I used the same cookie set from Sweet Sugarbelle as my Valentine’s Day party and was able to customize them so they fit the theme! I wouldn’t consider myself a baker so being able to make my own cookies and decorate with royal icing is such a fun new hobby!

I had leftover powdered sugar donuts from the Baseball donut and fruit kabobs I did recently, so I thought they were the perfect final treat to display on the dessert table! I love these mini crates and thought they were adorable for holding the donuts and also tying in the big crate that I used.

If you don’t want to go to the effort of having a bunch of desserts, the dessert table is also a great place to put party favors! I pretty much always do this and they double as decorations, win win!

For this Easter party, I had the idea to take the vintage bunnies and turn them into paper decorations. Fortunately Hobby Lobby had matching script paper so I used gable boxes to act as the body and created the little heads and paws with my Cricut. I think these little guys might be my favorite part of the party!

Last but not least, the kids table! My other favorite part of a party, something about a long table with all those little chairs, it’s just so cute!

I found these little bunnies at Pier1 and added gingham bows so they matched the gingham on the dessert table. Once again, I liked the different heights so I added a miniature crate and lots of faux flowers and eggs.

I used my standard milk bottles and decorated them with gingham bows and polka dotted straws. I even kept the wooden cutlery plain for this party!

The big to-do on the kids table had to be the bunny butt placemats! I used the same paper from Hobby Lobby and my Cricut to cutout the shapes. I then made pom pom balls to act as the tail! Such an easy DIY if you’re looking for a last minute idea to make your table a little more festive!

At first I was a little unsure about moving away from traditional Easter colors but once it all came together, I was pretty happy with the results! Let me know in the comments if you like to stay traditional for holidays or switch things up from time to time!

Love this?! Pin for later…
