4th of July Party Favors

The 4th of July will be here before we know it! If you haven’t thought about party favors yet, I’ve got you covered with these two makeovers from previous Creative Mom 101 projects. This take along tic-tac-toe from our WellieWishers party is now patriotic ready and of course I had to re-do the no-sew mini pom pom bags in a 4th of July theme. I just can’t get enough of them!

Let’s start with the DIY tic-tac-toe! If you haven’t seen this DIY video, that’s a good place to start…

For this patriotic tic-tac-toe, I followed the same steps as the video except for I used different colors and of course stars instead of polka dots.

Materials needed:

  • Jumbo gems (10 per game)
  • White, blue and gold spray paint
  • Red craft paint
  • Paint brush
  • Mini star confetti
  • Glue
  • Jumbo craft sticks (4 per game)

As you can see, the stripes on the red and white striped gems aren’t perfect (just like the bumblebees from the WellieWishers version) but if you’re creating several batches, I think hand painting the stripes is the easiest and fastest way.

Once you have the games ready, you’ll need some cute bags to put them in! Once again, I have a DIY video from the original pom pom bags that we’re going to adapt…

Materials Needed:

  • Cotton pouches
  • Trim
  • Red & White Pom Poms (I used the 1/2 inch red and white from these packs)
  • Blue Pom poms (I used the dark blue from this pack)
  • Glue gun and glue
  • Scissors
  • Lighter (Optional- to burn the ends of trim)
  • Red & white twine
  • 4th of July tag – I used my cutting machine to make these

July 4th has always been one of my favorite holidays! From bike parades in the morning to swimming and neighborhood BBQ’s and finally fireworks at night, there’s so much fun to be had all day. With party favors like these, not only do they provide entertainment while celebrating but kids can continue to play them even after the party ends. If you’ve followed Creative Mom 101 for awhile, you know that’s my favorite kind of party favor!

I’m a stay at home mum, and an aspiring photographer. I love taking care of my home and my family, and I also adore photography. Apart from being a mummy (/nurse/teacher/confidant am I right?), I also write on this blog full time, and I’m working towards opening a photo studio (fingers crossed!)
